Carter's progress

For Carter's homework, he was to draw 10 animals.  He labeled them all to let you know what they are. I did not have anything to do with this homework. I was putting the kids to bed.  I can't believe this kid is 5 and in Kindergarten! :)

Project 365

I'm trying something this year called Project 365.  It's where you try to take one picture each day in an effort to better document everyday life.  So hopefully that means daily or at least more often blog posts.

January 1, we went ice skating.  Carter was a little freaked out to do something that he'd never done that sounded pretty dangerous and had the potential to be painful. Our friend's birthday party was at the Ice Arena about a mile from our house.  Carter ended up loving it and would like to go again. I also managed to stay mostly upright dispite the last time I ice skated was when I was a little girl on our back wood's pond and my brother and I shared a pair of ice skates from a garage sale.

January 2nd we decided to dye some eggs.  We had a ton and hard boiled them, so may as well dye them before making egg salad...

Carter  also carried Valerie for the first time.
January 3rd, Paul and Carter were off school and work, so Paul took the boys to get haircuts
January 4th picture is of Carter's current obsession.  Bakugan.

Tues & Wed were busy!

Today, Thursday, we have a beautiful day outside, some crunchy snow on the ground and not a blessed thing to do.  Thank goodness.

Tuesday we started out with having a babysitter here and I sifted through Novemeber and December photos-editing, organizing electronically, getting uploaded to print (clarkphoto.com has 4cent prints right now until 1/3/2010)  and I even put together a two page layout that was in kit form and completed another two pages in our family album.

Then we headed to IKEA to get two shelves for our bookcase and a new hinge for the TV cabinet that the children (esp Henri) seems to think is a jungle gym.  Kids also eat free this week at IKEA, which is why we were there almost 2 hours just to get 2 shelves and new drinking glasses. (we're down to about 4 big, 4 small).

Then we went to Bonney Lake to visit a friend and her kids (including 3 month old baby) while they were in town from Michigan, then to my see my grandparents' new place in Tacoma.  It's quite nice, though they are having a hard time making friends because they are more active than most of the other residents.  Carter was going to show Grandma how to play Wii, because they have open sessions, but we were too late, so he showed her how to play Pokemon instead.  Grandpa taught Henri how to eat soup without getting it everywhere for which I am very grateful...

We were going to try to hit Zoolights, but because we were running late and tired by this time, Carter made the executive decision to hang out with Grandma & Grandpa until 9pm, then we got in pajamas and headed home.  All 3 were wide awake when we arrived home.  Sigh.

Wednesday we went to visit Carter's friend from preschool and see their new house in Issaquah!  Then we headed back home to see our friend's 2 month old baby while they were in town from Indiana.

Last night I put the kids to bed, then Paul and I ignored the shuffling while we watched a movie and came upstairs to this surprise in our bed...

Bathtime

What do you do when you run out of wall space to color on in the bath?  Why color each other of course!
