This is the first time all 3 kids have been in school every day, all day. V only went one day the first week and loved it, she went Monday the 2nd week and loved it. 3rd day, she realized it was every day and cried for about 15 minutes in the morning. Wed & Thursday, we reminded her of all the fun stuff at Kindergarten (H who had the same teacher last year was very helpful in this regard). Monday she was ok with it-we had to remind her of less stuff to get her out the door. Today, Tuesday, she ran out the door ahead of us, ran 1/2 the track and happily took her backpack and went to wait for class, walking up to 2 other little girls from her class, so I guess it's alright now.
C seems to have adjusted to having his former art teacher as his Grade 4 teacher (he's not a fan of art class). I think it helps that she bribes the kids with candy for good behavior.
H is loving Grade 1, his teacher very much "gets" his unique personality and seems the teacher has a son with similar quirks-such as his forgetful nature. I finally had to ask the teacher to remind him to bring shoes home as the kid had left so many at school (how?) he was about to have to go barefoot on the 2nd week.
