This is an actual conversation that took place in my house. No names have been changed. You cannot make this stuff up...
Background: Carter had been having some loose stools, so I had been enticing him to eat some bananas.
Carter: Mom! I have to go poop!
Mom: Ok, so then go!
C: Hey mom! (shouting from the bathroom) My poop is normal again. Guess I ate enough bananas. Wow, that one looks like a banana, it's so great, mom! It's big! Oh, and those little ones, kind of look like grapes.

The week's End
Paul's dad flew in Wednesday afternoon while Carter was at school. Thursday morning, while I was at MOPs, the two of them drop up to BC (after dropping by my car, which had Paul's passport in it, oops!). Paul is participating in a Professional level curling event this weekend. The West Coast Curling Classic (which has end by end scoring on the site). Afterwards, I went to the hand therapist. Now that the doctor has put me on water pills, they want to try having me come in only once a week. Then I got the tires rotated, where I was told I should look at having new brakes put on (maybe on next month's budget!) and went to pick up Carter.
Thursday night, a miracle happened. I put the kids to bed at 7:30 and 8:15 and then I decided to bed as well, at 8:30. All of us. 3 kids and myself slept until 7am. Seriously. I felt like I had about 7 cups of coffee this morning! Then I went to my other MOPs group and bragged about it! Which means, of course, it will never happen again. Anyways, I had to take the kids up to my mom's house as Carter had today off school and he's not signed up for MOPPETs (childcare). Then I raced up to get Carter because I had received a call Wednesday that the carpet cleaner would not be able to come Friday after all because his truck was having problems. Well, he called this morning and said the truck was fixed and if it was ok he'd like to come up. Um, ok, but I don't have anything up off the floor. So after picking up the kids, I raced home and spent the next hour lifting couches and other furniture up so that it would be off the carpet so he could clean as much as possible. I finished literally 2 minutes before he came.
Scott of Solution Carpet Cleaning did a great job at a very reasonable price. He was recommended to me by one of our Mentor Moms at MOPs. He was cleaning for an hour, so the kids and I hung out in the backyard and I used the time to mow the front and back yards and weed eat the backyard and about 1/2 the front. Then he told me we had to stay off the carpet for about 6 hours for it to dry. So I called my friend I was babysitting for. After getting off the phone, I let the kids play another 30-60 minutes in the sandbox, then stripped them in the backyard and took them directly to the bath, then put pajamas on them and took them over. She was nice enough to get us pizza for dinner and now the kiddos are all asleep. I'm wondering where the heck they are going to sleep tonight (maybe the futon?) as all our beds are covered with furniture and our couches are all 3 feet off the floor. Guess I can put them on the futon, put the pack 'n' play back in Valerie's room so she can sleep in it and clear off a corner of my bed. Sigh.
Tomorrow's slated for fun. Playing/crafting at a friends', then making haunted gingerbread houses with another friend, then my mom is taking Carter to spend the night at her house while my nephew is visiting (after which I'll have to hear Henri cry the whole way home when he realizes he doesn't get to stay) and I'm hoping Saturday will be another good sleeping night. Sunday will be the regular swimming/church stuff and possibly a trip to grandma's. We'll see if I'm still moving by then!

Halloween-ready for it!
I brought down our costume bin from the garage after we got home from picking up Carter. I then convinced everyone that they wanted a costume from this bin so that I would a) not have to try to find Halloween costumes for 3 kids b) spend any money on a costume. I had to accomplish this before our Disney trip when we are going to the Halloween party. Since we're flying Southwest, we each get two bags free of charge, so may as well wear costumes to the party.
Feeling like Supermom having costumes picked out by October 6th :)

Woohoo! Another trip in the works!
We're headed to Hawaii in 2011, woohoo! I've never been but have always wanted to go! I booked the kids and I. Paul doesn't know if he'll be able to come because US Nationals for Curling are also next year and he doesn't know if he can get the time off. It's so wonderful to have something to look forward too :)
Paul's dad is coming to see his curling this weekend. He's coming tomorrow night, so we picked up the house a little and today we also took Henri to gym. I think Paul thought Henri's keeping up with the 2-3 year olds was a hoot. Then we applied for Valerie's US Passport and she nad I took a great nap.

Busy Monday
Dropped Carter off, had my neighbor's daughter here for a few hours. All I got done while she was here was clean up the mess Henri made and fold about 3 loads of laundry. My neighbor picked her up and I left the little ones with Paul and went to the Dr. about my hands. We're going to stick with the hand therapy and she prescribed a dieretic to try to flush some of the excess water out and see if that helps. She'll send me to a hand surgeon for a cortozone shot if it's not working within the next 2-4 weeks and she wants me to e-mail her my blood pressure readings over the next two weeks as todays was 109/90.
Then I got home and took Valerie to the Canadian Consulate to turn in her paperwork to become a Canadian citizen. Then walked to pick up Carter from school.
Then watched "Two Weeks" about a mother's (Sally Field) last two weeks and ehr 4 children that come to care for her with Paul.
Valerie slept 10pm-6am last night! Wish I could say the same for Carter, who was up once and Henri who was up about every 2 hours.
