There is only one garage spot... it's 9.5 feet across. I know, don't get me started. We'll see how it goes... The shutters are coming off and we're doing all the detail white and the new siding will be a beige color (Are we wild and crazy, or what??? Nothing else seemed to "go" with the brick which we aren't changing). I'll post new pics when we get back there, here's the before shot from the street...
This is the great backyard...
this is next to the garage.... I've torn out the old fabric, weeded and pulled out some of the vine and leaves, I'm hoping a month left alone will settle some of the dirt, then I'll work in the old mulch and see what pops up....
This is the great deck and gazebo (gazebo has power and a ceiling fan, clear wind breakers, Paul's hoping to run a gasline for the grill out there)... That part sticking up is where a large umbrella goes... we may decide to get a stand instead, but for now...
View straight back from deck to the shed and playset (V LOVES the playset) and you can see a little area cleared beyond the fence and where the new houses will be built. From below the deck looking back up to the house and you can see the school beyond. Grades Jr. Kindergarten up through 8th grade and there's 415 students. It used to be a high school, so there's a track, fields and Carter gets a locker as a 3rd grader.
Henri's room was an office with white trimboard on the walls, wallpaper strip and original yellow paint. A coat of similar paint, removal of the wallpaper and trimboard (2 coats on the yellow) and it looks much better. A taller window will replace the existing. This is the smallest bedroom at 9x9 which is what V's room is now.

Valerie's room started blue on top and darker blue beadboard. Because Paul loves me very much he painted 2 coats (needs a 3rd, we ran out of time, so he'll do it while he's waiting for the truck to show up) pink on top, used painter's cault on the beadboard and brush painted 2 coats of white on it and will roller one more coat on the bottom.
Carter's room was the master bedroom and is wallpaper and neutral paint. V & Carter have Parquet floors, Henri's is a dark wood. Carter doesn't like it and we told him he could get an area rug. We plan to have a guest bed/futon in his room and a lot of the big kid toys and books since he's got plenty of room.
The kitchen is galley style with nice, big, new windows and a big storage island with drawers that has stools to eat at. The floor is a dark wood that's seen better days, if we end up redoing the kitchen Paul's hoping to replace it with the lighter wood that's in the living room and dining room

Entry way has 4-5 steps up to main level (raised bungalow) and then a full flight down to the basement. I love the entry way which can double as a mudroom because it's got tile, access to front and back doors and the garage and a coat closet that's twice as big as my current closet, complete with a lower rack for shoes....

The ginormous rec room with nice, dark flooring (continues through the master bedroom and 5th bedroom which will serve as my scrapbook/cpa office and Paul's home office for working remotely). It's wired for surround sound and has sconces which are all on their own dimmers and two ceiling fixtures on yet another dimmer. There's also a set up in the corner to add a gas fireplace if we like in the future. Paul was pleasantly surprised that it's bigger than the pictures show.
Our master is about the same size as we have now... no ensuite, but does have a walk-in closet that also has an entrance to the cold cellar (ie: Mommy's wine storage) under the front entry way-it's about 5 or 5.5 feet tall and will be using our current Gorilla shelves and Rubbermaid bins to store stuff in there. Carter says, "It's creepy in there" (add to 'to do' list clean cobwebs-done & add lighting to storage area). I want to put a hobbit door or door to Narnia on the currently illfitting door which needs to be fixed before winter or a) we'll get a draft or b) lots of spiders

The last bedroom is also a terrible picture but picture a room approx 8x12, it's long and narrow, but will make a good office.
The unfinished bathroom area is nothing to look at neither is the utility room, but there will be reveal pictures eventually and the bathroom really is a good size, maybe 12X8??? anyways, it'll be great.
Where do I begin?? I would like to continue to be in denial while admiring your new home. You know how much I love projects, but you totally outshine me in how much you are able to get done. Impressive! The neighborhood sounds so nice and you are going to love your gazebo-deck. And the master bedroom-office combo downstairs. I'll soak up all the details you offer!
