Henri's continuing saga with the eye makeup

So now Henri's eyes are weeping boogers, ew.  I held him down to get them with a warm washcloth this morning and he screamed, "No, mommy, you're making me crazy!"  It's really gross. I think it's getting better today, but his poor eyes look awful!  Somehow I don't think he'll learn anything from it, however.

Maybe I could use a parenting course...

Yesterday, Henri dumped out bubble solution on the hardwood floor while I was nursing Valerie, then this morning, after carefully closing the baby gate down the stairs, Carter opened it and Valerie fell down two stairs.

Then, this afternoon, everytime I tell Henri to do something he said, "NO! I'm gonna take you down!"  and Carter came home from school with this lovely little ditty about a woman with a "big, fat, booty..."  (2nd song in the video.

I never want to hear again, "you are so lucky, you have boys, at least they will stay out of your makeup"  I was cleaning the carseats outside for maybe 15 minutes?  I came in to silence, which is never a good thing.  Carter didn't know where Henri was.  I found him.. in my bathroom with lipgloss, mascara (waterproof, of course!), cream eyeshadow.....

The kids got along with him fine, but we are glad to have him visit and not have a dog full-time, they are a lot of work with three kids!  Valerie esp enjoyed him and he's very calm and sweet with her.

Wow, I think this is the first post in a long time with no pictures of Valerie!  Guess I've given the boys their day in the spotlight!

Baptism pics

Well, dad didn't have pics of all 5 of us, but had a few adorable ones of the babies AND a video of my baptism by Henri... (see about 2:20 in video)

Valerie-9 months

Before I tell you about Valerie's 9 month doctor's appt I want to share a little story I left out of yesterday's post.  So I got Valerie dressed up in her pink  and she looked so sweet, then I left her with a baby safe toy and went to get myself dressed.  I go to get her so we can get coats on and leave and her MOUTH IS BLACK.  She had gotten a hold of Henri's fake bird my grandmother had given him and started chewing on it and the ink leaked all onto her lips and mouth.  I calmly freaked out a little, grabbed her and a wet wash cloth and started scrubbing. I got it off her lips, but it was on her tongue the rest of the day.

So about today's appt.  We are thinking Valerie should wait at least another month until RSV/Flu season is over at Children's hospital before we have her get her dermoid cyst removed.  So maybe June after school lets out for Carter.

Dr. wants us to get her to try to stand on her feet with help to promote building up her leg muscles in preparation for walking and continue to work on table foods.  We are also trying to promote a sippy cup since she's never been a huge bottle fan and we plan on weaning her at a year.

She weighs 15 pounds, 11 oz which puts her in the 5-10 percentile (like Henri) and she's 26.25 inches which puts her in the 25th percentile, like Henri.  She still has her big head.  The doctor was happy with her growth, esp because babies tend to stay steady when they start crawling.

Happy Easter Baptism!!!

Awoke this morning with Valerie for a wonderful surprise.  There was just a little crack of sky between  the mountains and clouds this morning and Valerie woke me up JUST in time to see the sun rise between them.

The Easter Bunny stopped by our house and we had lots of fun with the huge Kindereggs...

Wow, got quite a deal this morning for our Easter Baptism this morning.  Not only did our intern get to help with the baptisms of Henri & Valerie, but Henri baptised me!  We all know Henri loves water.  He played in it while Pastor Kelly baptised him, then when Kelly passed him back to me, he proceeded to scoop up water and put it on my head.  What a deal... 3 baptisms, two pastors.  I'm hoping my parents got some pictures of it, because there weren't any on my camera.

then we raced over to my aunt's house to eat and have another egg hunt...

in other news, Valerie is starting to talk!
